2005-07-04 5:35 a.m. It's Western Week on Hallmark! Believe it or not I like me a good Western, mostly Western's done in the last twenty years or so. I don't much take to older ones. I'm watching one now where Colin Farrell is Jesse James and the kid from Everwood is Jesse James' little brother. It's pretty good. It's a different take on the Jesse James story, that's for sure. It paints him more like a farmer home from the war done wrong. I suppose there are always different perspectives. I also love to read Larry McMurtry's Westerns....like his whole Lonesome Dove series. Great books. I'm rereading Lonesome Dove again. I might go and reread Deadmans Walk after but I'm pretty sure I won't pick back up on Streets of Laredo. I didn't like that one much. It's been so long since I've read them it's almost like reading them for the first time. Know what I can't wait for? Into the West to pick back up. I missed the first installment but it's been a pretty awesome series. And since these commercials air a lot this time of the morning on cable... You know the Christian Chidrens Fund? How can you pick one child to sponser? It's impossible. I wish they'd just pick the child for you. Maybe they will. Lord knows I can't pick one. It's too sad.
